<p>An apparatus and a method for controlling length and weight of products are provided to promptly remove length errors and/or weight errors of the concerned products by considering conditions of the products after the cooling process of cut hot or cold rolled products. An apparatus for controlling length of products comprises: a sensing part(40) which is installed at the exit side of a cutting part(20) for cutting rolled products that have been transferred, and which senses length of the cut products; a data base(50) for storing data of a plurality of product lengths after cooling and effective range data of the product lengths based on reciprocally differential cooling conditions; and a control part(60) for computing current lengths of the product based on signals from the sensing part, computing the computed current lengths into lengths after cooling based on the data in the database to calculate error values deviated from the effective range, and controlling the cutting time in the cutting part based on the calculated error values.</p> |
