A diversity receiver apparatus and a reception system switching method wherein the switching between a diversity reception and a single reception is performed with precision, thereby reducing power consumption. A reception system switching part (112) switches, based on a reception system switching threshold value, between a single reception and a diversity reception. The reception system switching part updates, based on a reception rate calculated by a reception rate calculating part (110), the reception system switching threshold value. If a reception quality calculated by a reception quality calculating part (111) is equal to or greater than the reception system switching threshold value, then the reception system switching part switches to the single reception using respective one of antennas (101,105), radio demodulating parts (102,106) and decoding parts (103,107), while turning off the power supplies to the respective unused other of the antennas (101,105), radio demodulating parts (102,106) and decoding parts (103,107). If the reception quality is less than the reception system switching threshold value, then the reception system switching part switches to the diversity reception using both braches to which the antennas, radio demodulating parts and decoding parts belong. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009 |
