An audio mixer for a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to improve sound quality and sound volume of the vehicle audio and the sound quality and the sound volume of the external device and output the improved sound. A vehicle audio mixer(400) includes an audio signal processing module(440), an external signal processing module(410), an amplifier operating module(420), an output selecting module(450), and a remote control process module(430). When the vehicle audio operates, the audio signal processing module receives an audio signal which is the output signal of the vehicle audio(200) and outputs the audio signal. When the external device(100) operates, the external signal processing module receives the external signal which is the output signal of the external device and outputs the external signal. The amplifier amplifies the signal inputted from the audio signal processing module and the external signal processing module and outputs the amplified signal. The amplifier operating module operates the amplifier when the vehicle audio operates. When the audio signal is outputted from the audio signal processing module, the output selection module outputs the audio signal through the amplifier. When the external signal is outputted from the external signal processing module, the output selection module increases the audio signal after outputting the external signal by attenuating the audio signal. The remote control process module convert the received remote control signal to the signal suitable for the remote control of the external device after receiving the remote control signal from the steering wheel remote controller when the vehicle audio does not operate, and controls the external device remotely by transmitting the remote control signal to the external device. |
