PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for treating hair using a reducing agent which exhibits a uniform reducing force on the hair. SOLUTION: The composition for treating the hair is characterized by comprising (A) a reducing agent, (B) L-theanine, and (C) a polyhydric alcohol such as glycerol, diglycerol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, and 3-methyl-1,3-butylene glycol.
