<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface for an artificial bone having improved properties. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to an article having an outer surface that bears at least two layers of metal particles. The at least two layers include an outermost layer and an intermediate layer, wherein the outermost layer is essentially made of aspherical metallic particles having a mean particle size of 50-500 micron, and the intermediate layer is essentially made of substantially spherical metallic particles having a mean particle size of 50-500 micron.
