DEVELOPER COLLECTING CHARGING MEMBER, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE, AND CLEANING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect toner by surely reversely transferring residual toner onto an image carrier from a transfer body.

SOLUTION: A toner collecting charging device 50 for temporary collecting and charging the transfer residual toner on the transfer body 16 comprises: a toner collecting charging roller 52 provided close to the transfer body 16 so as not to be in contact with a primarily transferred toner image and having a collection function of temporarily collecting the transfer residual toner and a charging function of charging it to predetermined polarity; power sources 54, 56, 60 connected to the roller 52 to apply voltage with alternating voltage superposed on DC voltage; and a change-over switch 58 changing the waveform of the alternating voltage so that the toner collecting charging roller 52 is switched between a toner collection mode and a toner discharge mode.
