PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cleaning blade for use in an image forming apparatus by which cleaning performance to remove spherical polymerized toner having a small particle diameter is improved by improving wear resistance. SOLUTION: The method for producing a cleaning blade 10 includes the steps of: roughly kneading a rubber component (1) containing acrylonitrile butadiene rubber therein by supplying the acrylonitrile butadiene rubber to a rubber-kneading apparatus; kneading the rubber component (1), a filler (2) at least containing carbon black and zinc oxide therein, and a crosslinking agent (3) containing sulfur therein by simultaneously supplying the filler (2) and the crosslinking agent (3) to the rubber-kneading apparatus, after the rough kneading; and a press-vulcanizing a mixture consisting of a thermosetting elastomer composition obtained at the kneading step to generate zinc sulfide at the vulcanization and mold the thermosetting elastomer composition.
