PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for improving transmission of a downlink shared channel in a wireless communications system to improve system efficiency by avoiding redundant signaling transmission. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: mapping a BCCH (broadcast control channel) to a downlink shared channel through a MAC (medium access control) protocol entity for transmitting a system information broadcast message through the downlink shared channel; and forming a MAC PDU (protocol data unit) according to the system information broadcast message.
