摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep engine rotation speed as constant as possible even if external load torque is generated with respect to a control device for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This control device for the internal combustion engine is provided with an ignition timing correction means coping with external load demand by correcting ignition timing, and an air quantity correction means coping with the external load demand by correcting quantity of air flowing into a cylinder. The device copes with the external load demand by the ignition timing correction means not by the air quantity correction means when ignition timing at a time of external load demand detection is at a retarded side of a criterion, and copes with the external load demand by the air quantity correction means together with the ignition timing correction means, not by the ignition timing correction means, when ignition timing at a time of external load demand detection is at an advanced side of the criterion.
