PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an optically active 5-substituted-dihydropyridazin-3-one, which is industrially carried out. SOLUTION: An optically active 3-substituted-4-oxobutyric acid is converted under a mild reaction condition to an optically active 3-substituted-4-oxobutyric acid hydrazide, the optically active 3-substituted-4-oxobutyric acid hydrazide is subjected to an intramolecular dehydration reaction to produce the optically active 5-substituted-dihydropyridazin-3-one under an extremely mild reaction condition.
