PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mammalian colposcope capable of letting illumination light reach the inner part of the vagina by a simple structure, and permitting sanitary handling. SOLUTION: The mammalian colposcope is composed of a portable illuminator 28 and a transparent tube body 34, which constitute a penetrating peephole 30 when assembled. The portable illuminator 28 has an annular light emitting part 26 in the outer periphery of the penetrating peephole 30. The transparent tube body 34 has an end face shape corresponding to the annular light emitting part 26 on the proximal end. The transparent tube body 34 can be detachably assembled to the annular light emitting part 26 in such a way that the proximal end is located to face the annular light emitting part 26. The transparent tube body 34 is inserted into the vagina of a mammal with the transparent tube body 34 assembled to the portable illuminator 28, and the intravaginal observation is performed through the penetrating peephole 30 with the light from the annular light emitting part 26 reaching the distal end of the transparent tube body 34.
