<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of picking up a motion picture and a still picture with high quality. <P>SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus employing a photoelectric conversion element, a shutter speed for still picture imaging is first set. On the basis of the shutter speed for the still picture imaging, an imaging frame rate is then set.
