<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of easily transferring setting and data owned by the apparatus to another apparatus, and to provide a data processing program. <P>SOLUTION: When an image processing apparatus A is connected to an image processing apparatus B via a cable and bidirectional connection is established via a communication IF of each of the apparatuses, the image processing apparatus A provides its own identification information to the image processing apparatus B, and the image processing apparatus B provides its own identification information to the image processing apparatus A. The image processing apparatus A compares the own identification information with the identification information of the image processing apparatus B to recognize itself as a data transfer source. The image processing apparatus B compares the own identification information with the identification information of the image processing apparatus A to recognize itself as a data transfer destination. The image processing apparatus A provides the data to the image processing apparatus B, deletes the data stored in itself after transfer, and resets its own state to a state in factory-adjusted state, and starts the operation in the present setting.
