<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a contrast of a highlight part and maintain brightness of the whole image when correction for a dark section gradation is performed. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has an imaging part taking an image of an object and generating an image data, a selector selecting any one of a first photographing mode in which correction for a dark section gradation is not performed and a second photographing mode in which the correction for the dark section gradation is performed, a gradation conversion processing part performing a gradation conversion process in accordance with a first input-output characteristic when the first photographing mode is selected and performing the gradation conversion process in accordance with a second input-output characteristic which is different from the first input-output characteristic when the second photographing mode is selected, and a correction part performing correction for improving brightness of the dark section gradation of the image data to which the gradation conversion process is performed in accordance with the second input-output characteristic by the gradation conversion processing part when the second photographing mode is selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
