<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay apparatus capable of preventing inversion in the arrival sequence of frames and incorrect learning of a MAC address learning table. <P>SOLUTION: A port movement detection circuit 15 detects port movement generated by the arrival when a frame arrives at the MAC address learning table 11 from a route other than a learning finished route. A counter 16 counts the number of times when the port movement is detected by the port movement detection circuit 15. If a fault is detected at a relay apparatus 1, the port movement is monitored by the port movement detection circuit 15. When port movement of a first time occurs, the MAC address learning table 11 is updated.
