PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ridge height detector of a seedling planter, which can detect the height of a ridge on the travel of a machine frame straddling the ridge, is not damaged even on the backward movement of the machine frame, and can detect the height of the ridge again on the retravel of the machine frame without needing a specific operation. SOLUTION: In this ridge height detector of the seedling planter composed of an indication arm 22 having an angle detector and a grounding portion 24, a support shaft 23a is disposed in the lower portion of the indication arm 22, pivotally supporting a middle-bent lower arm 23 on the support shaft 23a on the front side of the machine frame. Then, the grounding portion 24 is integrally disposed on the lower arm 23, while a return spring 25 for acting a return moment in a direction for returning the middle bent rotatable lower arm 23 is installed between the indication arm 22 and the middle-bent lower arm 23. Further, one end of the support shaft 23a is extended to a range for moving the return spring 25 with the middle-bent rotation of the lower arm 23 to form an extended portion 23b.
