The invention relates to a hollow glass product having a surface with an indelible and automatically readable marking for identifying the portion of the IS machine from which the product is issued, characterised in that the marking includes the identification of the cavity, if need be of the line and if need be of the factory from which the product is issued, as well as the time-stamping of the stripping of the product from the blow mould. The invention also relates to a method for marking the product, and to a method for tracking the production of the product and detecting a counterfeit thereof.
