<p>A fault detection method, communication system and label switching router are used to solve the problem in the prior art that fault detection of multi-nodes can not be realized by bi-directional forwarding detection message analyzing. Wherein, the hop count between the first node and the second node on master label switching path is determined, the second node locates at downstream of the first node; the BFD message is packaged into a MPLS message, which carries the hop count between the first node and the second node; the MPLS message is transmitted through the master LSP; the node which receives the MPLS message determines if the node is the second node according to the hop count, if yes, it extracts the BFD message to detect fault in order to obtain the detection result; otherwise the MPLS message is forwarded. Using the scheme of the present invention, it makes the fault detection of MPLS more flexible.</p> |
