The retaining device (1) has a casing retainer (4) provided between a spacer (5) and a fastening unit (9) for receiving a casing (3) that surrounds a coated pipe i.e. exhaust gas pipe. The spacer is provided at preset distance to a slot (6) and is connected with the fastening unit by a connecting unit (8). The retainer is connected with the fastening unit by another connecting unit. The retainer is provided with a curved hook.
