<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new material for a press plate, which can be used for easily manufacturing the press plate that has both properties of flatness and hardness, which are hardly balanced, and that has further a coefficient of thermal expansion at the same level as copper. <P>SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel for the press plate has a composition comprising, by mass%, 1.0 to 4.0% Si, 10.0 to 25.0% Cr, 5.0 to 15.0% Ni, 0.3% or less C+N (including 0%), 5% or less Mn (including 0%), 5% or less Cu (including 0%), 5.0% or less Mo (including 0%) and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities; and has an austenite stability index Md<SB>30</SB>(°C) of 25 or less, which is defined by the expression: Md<SB>30</SB>(°C)=551-462(C+N)-9.2Si-8.1Mn-29(Ni+Cu)-13.7Cr-18.5Mo. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
