PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target-tracking device capable of mounting a tracking filter, based on assumed acceleration of a target, capable of intuitively designing on an existing target filter typified by a Kalman filter, and of realizing optimum tacking performance. SOLUTION: The target tracking device is equipped with a tracking filter part 20 outputting an estimate of a target, residual which is the difference between the estimate and an observed value, and a residual estimate, based on the observed value of the target, the observed accuracy of the target, and system noise in a target motion model, and is furthermore equipped with an optimum system noise setting part 10 calculating optimum system noise in the target motion model by inputting the assumed acceleration of the target, the observed accuracy of the target, and a sampling period, the tracking filter part 20 finds the estimate of the target, based on the optimum system noise calculated in the optimum system noise setting part 10.
