PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ridge ventilation member which has a fireproof and flame-retardant function in order to overcome the inconvenience of a conventional ridge ventilation material, i.e. the conventional ridge ventilation material pays attention only to prevention of infiltration of rainwater and snow into an attic space while ensuring sufficient ventilation, and pays less attention to fire proofing and flame retarding aspects. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the ridge ventilation material, long metallic top plates 3 having a chevron-shaped cross section are provided, and ventilation members 1, 2 are secured to rear surfaces on both lateral sides of the top plates 3 over the entire length of the same. Then tape-shaped incombustible thermally-expansible materials 7 are secured to internal top surfaces of the top plates 3 so as to extend along inside edges of the ventilation members 1, 2 in a longitudinal direction and so as to extend along peripheral edges of the top plates 3 in a lateral direction, in a manner forming a quadrangular shape having a size that can form a barrier enclosing a ridge opening when expanded. Further the inside of incombustible thermally-expansible material secured portions in the internal surfaces of the top plates 3 are covered with a condensation prevention sheet 9.
