<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club capable of capturing a sunk ball, allowing the sole to more easily escape by minimizing the friction on the sole face, capable of securely capturing the ball, and permitting the ball shot with a long carry. <P>SOLUTION: A bearing portion 5 as a partial narrow sole area is added to the sole part 2a of the club head, or the bearing portion as a partial narrow sole area is added to the space between the bottom of the leading edge of the club head and the front part of the sole. The bearing portion as the partial narrow sole area is formed in the shape of a semicircular rod or hog-backed. Alternatively, the bearing portion as the partial narrow sole area is formed in the shape of a short semicircular rod or composed of a plurality of hog-backed bodies.
