PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide color photographic sensitive material which improves gray tone reproducibility when projected on a screen at a theater, and which is particularly suitable for use as a cinematographic color positive photosensitive material, and to provide an image forming method using the same. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has on a transmissive support at least three photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layers containing at least one of yellow, magenta and cyan dye forming couplers and containing silver halide emulsion grains mutually different in color sensitivity, and at least one non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer having antihalation power, wherein the silver halide grains contained in at least the three photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layers have a silver chloride content of≥95 mol%, and when the silver halide color photographic sensitive material is exposed to tungsten light through a negative filter Skin, in a range of 5-95 of L* value expressed by CIELab values, a* value is -2 to 2, b* value is -10 to 10, and C* value is≤10.2.
