[PROBLEMS] To provide an azo metal complex pigment which can be used in a color filter, ink-jet ink, etc. and which is fine, is excellent in flowability and dispersion stability, and gives a coating film having a high contrast. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The pigment comprises a clathrate of melamine with an azo barbituric acid metal complex and has been treated with an unsaturated higher fatty acid. Also provided is a colored composition which comprises the pigment and a pigment carrier comprising a transparent resin, a precursor therefor, or a mixture of these.
