PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen a dynamic range capable of dealing with a moving picture without reducing a resolution in an imaging apparatus that requires the wide dynamic range. SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus 100, an L/S separating section 3 acquires a long signal and a short signal from a video signal output from an imaging section 1 having an imaging device including a first pixel group storing electric charge for a first electric charge storage time and a second pixel group storing electric charge for a second electric charge storage time. Furthermore, a saturation detecting section 4 detects whether or not the long signal is saturated. Regarding a portion wherein the long signal is saturated, the long signal is exchanged with an interpolated long signal resulting from interpolating the short signal into a signal level of the long signal, and output as a corrected long signal by a selection section 8. Further, the corrected long signal and a corrected short signal output from a multiplication section are sequentially switched by an L/S synthesizing section 9, thereby generating an output video signal. Moreover, the imaging section 1 is driven by a driving section 2 in such a way that a center time of the first electric charge storage time matches that of the second electric charge storage time.
