PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle, facilitating assembly of a tilt mechanism having an outer diameter larger than an inner diameter of a sensor coil, without enlarging the inner diameter of the sensor coil to mount the tilt mechanism on a vehicular rear side of the sensor mechanism, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: An assembly body to which a torsion bar 20 and a lower steering shaft 11 are assembled is formed, in advance, to an output shaft 21 to which a worm wheel 30 and a second bearing 36 are assembled. The assembly body is inserted into a housing part 19, in which the sensor coil 25 is fitted in advance, and a lower column part 16 integrally formed to the housing part 19. Then, a universal joint 10 of the tilt mechanism 12 is assembled to an end part on the vehicular rear side of the lower steering shaft 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
