PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat reclining device capable of mitigating the generation of impulsive sound by mitigating an impact when an arm plate collides with a stopper when forward tilting the seat back, and surely stopping the seat back at a prescribed forward-tilt position. SOLUTION: This seat reclining device is formed by rotationally journaling arm plate 2 to a base plate 1, and having a locking mechanism 4 and a spiral spring 5 for energizing the arm plate 2 to a forward-tilt side, between the base plate 1 and the arm plate 2, when the seat back is in a forward-tilt side from an erecting state, the locking mechanism 4 is non-locked and the seat back is movable to the forward tilt position. This seat reclining device also has a stopper means for stopping the seat back at the forward-tilt position, wherein the stopper means has a spiral spring (an energizing means) 8, when the seat back is rotationally turned to the forward-tilt position, abutting on the side of the arm plate 2 to energize it to a rearward-tilt side.
