PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system and an imaging apparatus by which a zoom image which can not be obtained in normal zoom photography. SOLUTION: When a zoom button 102a of a digital camera 1 is depressed, optical zoom drive using a zoom lens is first executed and the zoom image is displayed on a display panel 111. When the zoom button 102a is further depressed, information about a current position, a direction of the digital camera 1, an operation amount of the zoom button 102a, etc. are transmitted to a server 4. Then, a position in a virtual space where landscape image data should be acquired is specified in a position specification part 402 of the server 4, after image data corresponding to the specified position and image data of a figure subject part in the image data transmitted from the digital camera 1 are synthesized with each other in an image synthesis part 405, virtual zoom image data obtained by synthesis is returned to the digital camera 1 and displayed on the display panel 111.
