PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a step finely by flectional deformation in a coil in which the winding of an electric wire is single-layered in a radial direction. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the coil executes a winding process to wind a wire 1 spirally so as to become plural layers in an axial direction and a single layer in a radial direction, while an inner periphery is regulated by one pair of a relatively small edge guide 2 whose cross sectional shape is circular and a relatively large central guide 3 located in the center of the edge guide 2, and an extending process to move the wound electric wire 1 so as to extend toward the both sides in the axial direction in the vicinity of the central guide 3 by rotating the central guide 3 making a straight line passing the both edge guides 2 as the axis of rotation.
