PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in assembly of a magnetic sensor to a device main body while securing positional precision between a magnet and a magnetism detection element constituting the magnetic sensor. SOLUTION: The multidirectional input device 1 is provided with: a case 2; an operation shaft 3 partially exposed from the case 2 and receiving operation by an operator; first and second drive members 4 and 5 arranged in the directions orthogonally crossing mutually inside the case 2 and turned according to tilting operation to the operation shaft 3; and a turn detection mechanism 6 detecting turning of the first and second drive members 4 and 5. The turn detection mechanism 6 is constructed of: a holder 602 connected to the first and second drive members 4 and 5 while holding the magnet 601; a GMR element 605 arranged oppositely to the magnet 601 held by the holder 602; and a cover 603 housing the holder 602 rotationally and installed to the case 2 from the outside while positioning the GMR element 605 in a predetermined position.
