PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure gas safety device capable of serving as both a sealing function and a safety function for high-pressure gas and satisfying both constant sealability and safety against abnormal high temperature with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The high-pressure gas safety device is provided with a valve box (4) for a valve pin (8) which opens and closes a passage (2) for primary gas provided at a main body (1) on the passage (2). An annular groove (17) is formed in a side surface which faces the valve box (4) and the main body (1) and the annular groove (17) is communicated with a discharge path (18). Into the annular groove (17), an O-ring (19) is fitted on the upstream side and a soluble backup ring (20) is fitted on the downstream side, in a leak flow passage for primary gas. An inhibition member (12) formed with a gas supply hole (13) controlled by the valve pin (8) is installed on the main body (1) to inhibit the valve box (4) and the soluble backup ring (20).
