PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber free from cracks and voids, with a cross-section being of random structure, through a simple nozzle structure and spinning condition control. SOLUTION: The carbon fiber's precursor is produced by melt-spinning mesophase pitch by melt blowing process using such a carbon fiber spinning nozzle as to be composed of a pitch inlet part 1, a throttle part 2 and a capillary part 3, having an angle (inlet angle)αmade by the throttle part 2's wall surface with the central axis of 35°-90°, 3 or greater a ratio (D1/D2) of the diameter D1 of the pitch inlet part 1 to the diameter D2 of the capillary part 3, and a ratio (L/D2) of the capillary length L to the capillary diameter D2 of 5-20.
