PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe blade cartridge, removable from a utility tool. SOLUTION: The removable blade cartridge 210 mounted to a corresponding blade cartridge bay 218 includes: a blade cartridge body 234 having a groove slot and a knife slot 246 connected to a groove slot 236; a knife blade 216 positioned within the groove slot of the blade cartridge 234 and slidably moved between an open position and a closed position; and a guide assembly 250 coupled with the knife blade 216, wherein the guide assembly moves the knife blade 216 between the open position and the closed position of the blade cartridge body 234.
