A water supply for a processing system, e.g. a rotary printing press, is connected to the initial feed (4), e.g. a water main, by a number of elements including filters, non return valve, and pressure reservoirs and pressure reducing valves. The system removes impurities and provides a constant pressure to the feed lines (1) to the process stages. The main pressure reservoir (13) is fitted near to the main pressure reducing valve (13). The control feed line includes pressure monitors (6, 12).
