An elastic band for a sun cap is provided to maintain elastic force of the elastic band while minimizing the pressure applied to the head by causing the pressure of the elastic band to uniformly distribute the pressure applied to portions of the elastic band fixed to the head. In a band body formed in such a shape that thickness of the band body is gradually decreased as it goes from a central portion(11) of the band body to both end portions(12) thereof, an elastic band for a sun cap is characterized in that: a curvature protrusion(13) is formed on an outer periphery of the band body in such a shape that the curvature protrusion is gently curved and protruded from both sides of the band body to the center thereof; stepped projection faces(12a) are formed on both ends of the band body; and inclined curvature protrusions(15) are formed on portions of the band body right behind the stepped projection faces and protruded to the front side by inclined faces(14) of the band body.
