<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can reduce a power consumption at the time of returning from a power-saving state by performing image processing lowering a working frequency of a CPU within a return time until it becomes a printable state when it receives a printing job in a power state. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 is equipped with an image processing part 11 which carries out image processing to the printing job and expands to printable raster data, a return time calculating part 12 which calculates the return time until the image forming apparatus 10 returns to the printable state from the power-saving state, a job amount calculating part which calculates a job amount of the printing job received at the image processing part 11 when the apparatus is in the power-saving state, and a frequency control part which controls the working frequency of the CPU equipped in the image processing part 11. The frequency control part calculates the lowest working frequency whereby image processing of the job amount can be completed within the return time, and controls the CPU to operate by the working frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
