<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound field control method for achieving a sound field mode matching a received broadcast program on the basis of genre information extracted from program information on the received broadcast program and the number of input channels. <P>SOLUTION: In the sound field control method, the genre information and the number of input channels are read out of the program information added to the broadcast program. Then information on a sound field mode, made to correspond to both the read genre information and the number of input channels, and sound field control information thereof are found by referring to a sound field mode table wherein information on one of a plurality of sound field modes is registered while being associated with the number of input channels and the genre information included as the program information. A control command generated on the basis of the found sound field control information is output to an audio control unit, which is switched to processing configurations for achieving the sound field mode matching the broadcast program. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
