PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform processing flexibly in response to a user request, even when there is an instruction for the execution of interrupt processing in the middle of parameter setting processing. SOLUTION: A data processing apparatus comprises a first storage means for storing a parameter; a setting means for resetting the parameter which is stored in the first storage means; a first processing means for carrying out first processing by interrupting parameter setting processing, when an instruction of interruption processing, including the first processing and second processing to be performed after the first processing, is generated during the parameter setting; a resumption means for resuming the interrupted parameter setting processing, prior to performing the second processing; and a second processing means for performing the second processing, by using the set parameter, after the parameter is set in the resumed parameter setting processing.
