PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system capable of avoiding the event that I/Os of the entire hosts stop even when a response from a certain host is late for switching connection destinations. SOLUTION: A volume A203 is requested from hosts 100 and 110. For moving the volume 203A, a path switching control part 202 stores the hosts 100 and 110 as a switching object host group and instructs each host of the switching object host group to switch connection destinations. The path switching control part 202 waits for a connection request transmitted from the hosts 100 and 110, and when receiving the connection request from the hosts 100 and 110 within a prescribed time, returns connection switching destination notification as a response to the connection request. The connection destinations are switched when the hosts 100 and 110 issue a connection request to a disk device 210 of a movement destination according to the connection switching destination notification.
