PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diversify handling about a false bill, to dissolve volume shortage of a storage, and to reduce labor about genuineness/falseness distinction about the false ticket. SOLUTION: This paper sheet handling device has: an money reception/payment port 220 for receiving/paying a paper sheet; a bill distinction part 230 distinguishing genuineness/falseness of the paper sheet inputted to the money reception/payment port; a first storage 260 temporarily storing a genuine bill when the paper sheet is the genuine bill; a second storage 240 that is a storage different from the first storage, storing the false bill when the paper sheet is the false bill; a third storage 250 that is a storage different from the first storage and the second storage, storing the false bill when the paper sheet is a doubtful bill doubtful whether the paper sheet is the genuine bill or the false bill; and conveying means 270, 272 conveying the genuine bill inside the first storage and the doubtful bill inside the third storage to the money reception/payment port when detecting a refund instruction from a user.
