PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electric power consumption in a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: This display is provided with a timing controller for generating pulses of STH signals at every other frame. A source driver 5 and a gate driver 6 are thereby driven at every other frame, so as to reduce the electric power consumption. An operation mode can be switched to a power saving mode from a normal mode only by turning on a power saving control signal in a PC 100 without disturbing a display screen of a liquid crystal display 1.
