PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for grasping and delivering a green tire which can smoothly grasp up a sticky green tire from a U-shaped carrier without deforming the green tire. SOLUTION: This apparatus is configured in such a manner that: holding the green tire G conveyed horizontally by the U-shaped carrier 10 with four holding arms 2a, 2a, 2b and 2b disposed vertically and obliquely circumscribed to the outer peripheral surface of the tire so as to surround the periphery at nearly symmetrical positions, where holding plates 4, 4 of the lower holding arms 2b, 2b, abutting on the outer peripheral surface of the green tire G independently slide in the longitudinal direction of the arm body 3 to force the green tire G to rotate around the center of tire.
