PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver with a message function at a low cost by eliminating the need for providing a microphone for recording. SOLUTION: A recording medium 22 stores voice signals. A speaker 4 outputs the voice signals corresponding to the inputted voice of a user when recording the voice signals and outputs the voice corresponding to the inputted voice signals when reproducing the voice signals. A microcomputer 17 records the voice signals supplied from the speaker 4 in the recording medium 4, and the microcomputer 17 reproduces the voice signals recorded in the recording medium 22. The microcomputer 17 erases the voice signals recorded in the recording medium 4 after reproducing the voice signals, and the microcomputer 17 receives and outputs a television program after reproducing the voice signals.
