The beam guidance magnet (200) has a coil system on a ferromagnetic material to influence the beam guidance, which has an expanded, curved single coil along the particle path. The coil system has two main coils (201,202) with side units (203,204,208) stretched longitudinally in the direction of particle path and end units (205,206) bent upwards relative to the beam guidance plane. Two flat, banana-shaped curved coils (207) are arranged between the end units of the main coils with side units and arc-shaped end units (209,210) are stretched longitudinally in the direction of the particle path. An independent claim is also included for an irradiation unit.
