CLEANING SOLVENT AND CLEANING METHOD

Disclosed is a cleaning solvent which has a high cleaning performance against a flux, a flux-containing material or the like and does not have a flash point. Also disclosed is a cleaning method which can clean a flux, a flux-containing material or the like without the concerns about the ignition of a cleaning solvent. The cleaning solvent comprises 87 to 94 mass% of (2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane and 6 to 13 mass% of acetone. The cleaning method comprises: a solvent contact step of contacting a first cleaning solvent with an article of interest; and, subsequently to the solvent contact step, a steam contact step of vaporizing a second cleaning solvent to generate a steam and then exposing the article to the steam, wherein each of the first and the second cleaning solvents is the above-mentioned cleaning solvent.
