<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of achieving improvement in accuracy of discriminating the kind of recording material and shortening of time required for discrimination processing. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a storage part in which two or more kinds of patch images having specific shape and constituting a part of a two-dimensional bar code are stored. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming part which forms a pattern image for measurement having one or more patch images of the same kind as a developer image on an image carrier, and a density detection part which detects the density of the pattern image for measurement formed on the image carrier. The image forming apparatus includes a first decision part which decides a difference between the shape of the patch image obtained from the detected density and the shape of the patch image stored in the storage part. The image forming apparatus includes an adjusting part which adjusts an image forming condition corresponding to a pixel making a difference out of a plurality of pixels constituting the specific shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
