<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing generation of transfer dust by appropriately adjusting bias of a discharging electrode even when surface potential of an image carrier and transfer bias of a transfer means are changed by process control or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The image density of a toner pattern more easily causing the transfer dust than a toner pattern for process control is detected by a P sensor 50, and bias applied to a discharging blade 40 when a result of detection is within a predetermined image density range is set as a proper value. Thus, even when the surface potential of a photoreceptor 3 and bias to be applied to a transfer roller 30 are changed by the process control or the like, charge remaining on an intermediate transfer belt 4 after transfer can be appropriately eliminated by the discharging blade 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
