摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater welding method capable of forming a weld part on a part to be welded with excellent accuracy by performing the welding repair by using a welding head to the part to be welded including a crack in water. <P>SOLUTION: In the underwater welding method, a vapor phase space is firstly formed between a fore end of a welding head 9 and a part 10 to be welded by ejecting shield gas 5 from the welding head 9 to the part 10 to be welded. Secondly, the part to be welded is heated for the predetermined time to evaporate water from a crack of the part to be welded while the welding head is kept stationary with respect to the part to be welded. Thereafter, the surface of the crack of the part to be welded is heated to melt while the welding head is kept stationary with respect to the part to be welded successively to an evaporation step. By supplying a filler metal to the surface of the crack, the surface of the crack of the part to be welded is filled by welding to form a spot-welded part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
