PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of picture quality at a low cost in magnifying the image data of rectangularly divided pages and transferring the image data to the outside. SOLUTION: In transferring the image data of rectangularly divided pages through a variable magnification processing part 207 and an image I/F part 117 to an external controller 120, when the size of the image data from the variable magnification processing part 207 in the main scanning direction does not conform to the boundary size for the image I/F part 117, a scanner image processing part 115a performs control to transfer only the pixels conforming to the boundary size and to omit the other pixels.
